Welcome to the GrantTutor! GrantTutor is a free service provided by Distance Education Consultants to help school districts and institutions of higher education plan out and develop grant applications. Remember, if you would like to have assistance in the preparation of your grant proposal, we write grant proposals at no charge, in exchange for 10% of the grant funds going into DEC products or services. We are paid if, and only if, the grant funds. (We also write grants on a for-hire basis.) Introduction to the GrantTutor GrantTutor gives you definitions of the various sections in a grant and suggestions for how to get started writing each section. There is a text box in each section where you may either jot down notes, develop an outline, or write the full text for that section. It is wise to get your ideas down in each section, before moving on to the next section. That is because most sections actually build on the one that precedes it. When you have finished placing information into each section, press the Submit button. The GrantTutor will place what you have written into a web page that you can print out. This is a generic grant proposal. The most important advice that we can give you is to read the funding source's Request for Applications (sometimes called a Request for Proposals) carefully -- with a fine tooth comb -- and respond directly to what is in that RFA. Please follow the steps below, by answering the questions and expounding on the concepts, in either outline or paragraph form. Ready? Get set... go! Click here to start GrantTutor.
