Introduction Welcome to the Virtual National Memorial Museum at Pocalla Springs Elementary School. By touring this museum, you will gain a better understanding of the roles of the U.S. Military and civilians in world affairs. The museum has four floors to it, and follows a chronological timeline. The first floor covers history from the World War II Timeline. It includes the United State fighting a two front war with Japan and Germany, what life on the “Home Front” was like, and women’s roles in World War II. The second floor covers the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. The third floor covers the Cold War Era, Gulf War, and War on Terrorism to the present. The last and final floor will highlight national memorials that honor the men and women that served in the military from WWII to present. You will also see projects for future national memorials to be built. There will also other buildings and monuments found in the Washington DC Area to support your fall field trip.
There are many embedded activities, power point presentations, and
video clips to support your learning, so make sure that you click on each
picture to open the information that goes with each picture. |
